DOCTOR WHO: Mini Reviews of Classic Series

“The Mind of Evil”

I loved this for quite some time in it’s ‘original’ b/w identity when repeated on UK Gold. Then I saw/listened to some other long stories from both Pertwee’s time and especially Troughton’s. The plot is just a bit too convoluted for a family show like Doctor Who.
However it’s great fun, handsomely mounted – but at the cost of not meeting DW’s modest budget, and thus a straight ban for ace director Tim Combe.

Anything with Delgado in it is worth seeing, and he gets plenty to do here. I love how he is terrified of the Doctor deep down.

Would have been a near classic at 5 episodes – but the Daemons instead was given the privilege of pacier storytelling. (7/10)
